What is the difference between a fin box and a leash plug?

A fin box or plug holds a removable fin and must match the fin system and position. A leash plug anchors the surfboard leash and is selected by its installation size and board construction.

Can I replace an FCS box with a Futures box of a similar size?

Not as a direct swap. The fin interface, route profile and installation tooling differ. Changing systems requires a properly planned structural repair.

How should I choose a longboard centre-box length?

Match the box to the board design, installation area and the fin base you intend to use. Board length alone is not enough to select the box.

Should I choose a 25 mm or 32 mm leash plug?

Match the plug to the planned or existing route, laminate schedule and board design. A larger diameter is not automatically better for every repair or new build.

When should damaged hardware be repaired professionally?

Use an experienced repairer when the box moves, the surrounding foam is crushed or wet, the laminate is cracked, or the original alignment cannot be confirmed.
