Glassing Tools

Shop practical surfboard glassing tools for measuring, laminating and compatible fin-box installation. Use a measuring cup for controlled additive quantities, choose a squeegee size that suits the repair or lamination area, and use Futures dummy fins only for setting the intended Futures fin-box angles during installation. Keep tools clean and dedicated to the resin system where required, and follow the material and fin-system instructions for the complete job.

What does a glassing squeegee do?

A squeegee moves resin through fibreglass cloth, helps control wet-out and removes excess resin during compatible laminating and repair work.

Why use a small measuring cup?

A small graduated cup helps measure controlled quantities of resin additives or catalyst. Use the measuring method and ratio specified by the product directions.

What are Futures dummy fins for?

The dummy thruster set is used to hold the intended side and centre fin angles while compatible Futures boxes are installed. It is an installation tool, not a set of surf fins.

Can Futures dummy fins be used for FCS boxes?

No. They are designed for the specified Futures installation process. Use tools made for the fin-box system being installed.

Can I reuse glassing tools?

Some tools can be reused if cleaned safely before the resin cures. Follow the resin directions, avoid cross-contamination and replace any tool with cured residue or damaged working edges.

If you are assembling tools for a complete build or repair, contact The Surfboard Studio with the resin system, cloth and fin-box system so the equipment can be checked together.
