Resin Tints

Shop TSS powdered resin tints for coloured surfboard laminations and compatible resin work. These tints can be used with polyester, vinylester and epoxy systems when mixed according to the product directions. Use less tint for a more transparent result or build the concentration for stronger colour. Start by dispersing the powder into a small amount of resin, break up the particles thoroughly, then test a small batch before committing to the full mix.

Can these tints be used with epoxy resin?

The TSS powdered tints are described for polyester, vinylester and epoxy applications. Confirm the directions for the tint and the exact resin before mixing.

How do I make a transparent tint rather than a solid colour?

Use a lower tint concentration for a more transparent result and add more for stronger colour. Build gradually because it is easier to deepen a mix than remove tint.

How should powdered resin tint be mixed?

Start with a small amount of resin and work the powder into a smooth paste, breaking up particles thoroughly. Add that paste to the main resin mix as directed.

Why should I make a test batch?

Tint strength and cured colour can change with resin type, cloth, base colour, layer thickness and lighting. A small test helps confirm the mix before the main lamination.

Can I rely on the colour shown on screen?

Use online colour as a guide only. Displays, powder concentration and the completed laminate can all change how the final colour appears.
